Our Five Favorites for the month of May. Here’s a curated collection of the things that have sparked joy and inspiration within The Lanby team.
READ
The Circadian Code is one of our favorite reads from our Lending Library. It outlines a concrete plan to enhance weight loss, improve sleep, optimize exercise, and manage technology so that it doesn’t interfere with your body’s natural rhythm. Adding this to your summer reading list is a no brainer.
LEARN
Make the most of the abundance of spring and summer harvests by exploring the seasonal offerings in your area. Eating seasonal is a great way to incorporate a variety of fruits and vegetables into your diet allowing you to consume a range of vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients. Pro tip: opting for produce at its peak ensures you're getting the highest nutrient content possible.
EAT
The olive oil industry has had a history of problems, including mislabeling, adulteration with inferior refined oils, and failing to meet minimum sensory standards. Brightland is the solution to this problem. Their products are made by family farmers with the highest respect for ingredients and quality. Not to mention they have a high polyphenol count meaning it’s loaded with disease-fighting antioxidants and powerful anti-inflammatory properties.
DRINK
Drinking bone broth provides numerous health benefits, including supporting joint health, boosting the immune system, and promoting gut health due to its rich amino acid and nutrient content. Not to mention it’s high in protein, which we are always trying to get more of into our diet. Learn more about the benefits of bone broth here. We especially love the lemon and garlic (spring clean) flavor this time of year.
DO
Take advantage of the warmer weather by hopping on a Citi Bike for some zone two cardio. For a fun weekend activity, try out the 6-mile loop in Central Park—it's one of our favorites!
