Meet The Founder
What are your daily wellness non-negotiables?
Movement and breath are both a non negotiable. Sometimes life gets in the way and I have to skip one or both and I really feel it. For movement I love Tracy Anderson. It’s the perfect mix of sculpt, cardio and lots of sweat. I feel great after a class.
For breathwork I try to do a 7 minute practice daily and if I have more time I’ll do a longer one. It really depends on how crazy my morning is. Usually I’ll breathe in front of my red light therapy (always multi tasking!).
What is your history with breathwork?
I discovered breathwork in 2018 and started teaching in 2020. I fell in love with the practice during my first session. It was transformative.
How has breathwork impacted your life?
First it gave me the ability to trust that I have the pose to heal myself. I don’t need a healer, a guru or anything. We all have the power to go inwards and find the answers.
I was able to release a lot of trauma from growing up and remove any stagnant energy. I believe breathwork supported me in my fertility journey with my daughter.
How do you find balance between having a full time corporate job, teaching breathwork and being a mom?
It’s not easy but I find that when I take care of myself first, I can tackle anything. I fill my cup first so I can be a better mom, teacher and really dedicate myself to my career.
What mantra do you live by?
It’s not about you.
Well With Nadia and The Wellness Industry
What led to the creation of Well with Nadia? Can you share the story behind the brand's inception?
I’ve always loved wellness and everything that related to wellbeing, health and fitness. Breathwork is a pillar in my practice but I love to share the things I do to feel good.
How would you describe the mission of Well With Nadia?
Empowering people to take ownership of their physical and mental health.
What makes your breathwork practice unique?
I like to use my own experience to teach others. It might not resonate with everyone but when it does it really creates an impactful change. I focus on emotional release, and that usually helps people unlock a lot of things. Most of my clients have been able to completely change their lives through this practice.
What is the difference between breathwork and other healing modalities like meditation?
Breathwork is sort of an active meditation. You use the active breath to shut down the thinking brain. I always struggled a bit with meditation. I never knew if I was really doing it or if it was just me thinking I was meditating.
With breathwork, if you breathe, you are doing it and will feel it.
What is the best way to get started with breathwork?
Come to a class and be open minded!
How do you recommend turning breathwork into a daily/weekly routine?
Just do it. Carve out 10 minutes and lay on your back and breathe. I have classes on my website that you can download and use to practice daily.
