Introducing "Just The Labs" - A New Leap Towards Proactive Health and Wellness
The first step towards prevention.
A primary care membership for patients who want more. Primary Care. Nutrition. Wellness. All under one roof.
As the founder of The Lanby, my journey into the world of health and wellness was not just a professional calling, but a deeply personal one. As a young breast cancer survivor, the uncertainty of recurrence propelled my curiosity into wellness and motivated me to apply every new insight into safeguarding my future health. Despite the wealth of information available through books, podcasts, and the internet, I encountered a glaring gap in the healthcare system – a lack of guidance and support in translating this knowledge into a personalized approach to health management.
The traditional healthcare system, rooted in the practice of reactionary medicine, often leaves individuals navigating their wellness journey alone. This was a reality I lived through, most notably when I was trying to get pregnant and continued to miscarry without any explanation. Lo and behold, I started to unravel the unintended consequences of my self-guided health experiments, something I should have tracked with labwork all along.
In realizing that a systemic shift in healthcare was not an option, I started to contemplate what a utopic home base for health would look like outside of the typical insurance model. A sanctuary for patients seeking to take control of their health journey with trusted guidance and ongoing support.
Why "Just The Labs"?
Understanding the baseline of your health is the cornerstone of proactive wellness. Without comprehensive insights into where your hormone, nutrient, metabolic, and cardiovascular health stand, it's impossible to prioritize efforts or measure the impact of lifestyle changes. Yet, this crucial step is often overlooked or inaccessible due to the limitations of traditional primary care and the constraints of insurance coverage.
The reality is, most primary care doctors prescribe lab work that barely scratches the surface of understanding one's health. Worse, the "normal" ranges are often reflective of an average that does not necessarily equate to optimal health. The result? A healthcare journey that feels disconnected from your unique needs and potential for wellness.
Recognizing this gap, we were inspired to pilot a new offering, "Just The Labs". Our goal is to empower individuals with comprehensive testing that goes beyond the basics, offering insights that can lead to personalized health strategies and effective interventions.
Beyond the Basics: A Comprehensive Approach to Health
At The Lanby, we challenge the notion that specialist doctors like cardiologists, OBGYNs or urologists can serve as primary care providers. Comprehensive health means understanding the whole person, not just parts of them. It's about looking beyond your sex hormones to connect the dots with your thyroid, cortisol, and metabolic health as just one example – offering a holistic view that traditional medicine or specialty care often misses.
"Just The Labs" is our commitment to prevention, to understanding health from a root cause perspective, and to empowering our members (and now the public) with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions about their wellness journey.
